#ReadingCram End of the Year Read-a-thon 2013: Wrap Up Post

Dana from Danasquare  and Jenny from Juliababyjen’s Reading Room are hosting the Enf of the Year 2013 read-a-thon which will run from Dec. 9 and ends in Dec. 22.

Is it the last day of the #ReadingCram already? :O

I didn’t complete my goal but that’s okay, what’s important is I had fun during the read-a-thon and I also got to interact with fellow read-a-thoners through visiting their blogs and tweeting on Twitter.

Books finished: 4

Total number of pages read: 1,614

Reviews written: 0

I wasn’t able to write any reviews during the read-a-thon because I was busy reading books. I’m still 5 books away from my goal of reading 100 books this year. Right now I’m more focused on reading books but I’ll get back to writing reviews in January. 🙂

Overall, I think I did okay, it was a bummer I didn’t complete my read-a-thon goal but oh well 😉

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell:

Since I can’t write my reviews of the books I read during the read-a-thon yet, I thought I can give you my general impression of the books I read  by rating them. As you can see, House of Hades and Fangirl really wowed me (no surprise I loved Riordan’s book because he’s a genius writer IMHO, and I’ve been successfully converted to a Rainbow Rowell fan. Gaaaah I love Fangirl so much!)

So, there, that’s my wrap up post. Leave me a link to yours 🙂

#ReadingCram End of the Year Read-a-thon 2013: Post a Review Challenge + Day 10 Updates

Where do I start?

I’m freaking out. 14 days before the year ends and 5 books away to my goal of reading 100 books this year. Can I really finish 5 books in 14 days, given all the Holidays stuff going on right now– Christmas shopping, wrapping gifts (which I totally hate because for the love of pizza I am terrible at gift-wrapping), Christmas parties, planning what to cook for the noche buena, etc etc. I am going insane right now. I am so not going to sleep until I finish reading Fangirl.

And speaking of books… here’s my Day 10 update

Deadly (Pretty Little Liars, #14)The House of Hades (The Heroes of Olympus, #4)Confessions of an Almost-Girlfriend (Confessions, #2)

Post a Review Challenge

For the Post a Review Challenge I chose Shadow and Bone because it’s one of my favorite books this year. If you haven’t read it, go read it now! 😀

Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1)

The book has colorful and interesting secondary characters too. Like Genya, I love Genya because she is such a great friend to Alina and she’s so sassy. If she were a real person or if I lived in their world, Genya and I would definitely be friends.

There’s just so much feels in this book. I also cried at the closing part of the book because I thought it was going to be the end of Mal and Alina. Okay maybe I knew it wasn’t going to be their end but I kept thinking what if it was and it was such a horrible thought I really cried.

#ReadingCram End of the Year Read-a-thon 2013: Move Cast Challenge + Updates

Update

Still reading Confessions of an Angry Girl by Louise Rozett

Confessions of an Almost-Girlfriend (Confessions, #2)

I wasn’t able to do much reading today because well, mostly because I didn’t feel like reading and then there’s 2fuse. That game is just so addicting. Basically you just tap the squares with the same numbers and colors as fast as you can.

I’m not really very good at it. My friends can score hundreds of thousands and my current highest score is at around seventy thousand. I know I suck but that’s what makes it challenging.

Ok that was irrelevant to this book blog LOL.

But yeah, I don’t feel really motivated right now and there’s so many distractions around like

  • TV
  • internet
  • 2fuse

But I’m 60% percent of Confessions of an Angry Girl though aaaaand I hope I can finish it the sooner the better.

Movie Cast Challenge

For the movie cast challenge, I chose Shine Not Burn by Elle Casey. I really love this book because it was so so funny! Here you can find my 5-star review of the book.

Armie Hammer as Gavin “Mack” MacKenzie

“I can’t think of any better representation of beauty than someone who is unafraid to be herself.”

Andrea “Andie” Marks

It was quite challenging for me because I don’t know what many celebrities but I really enjoyed finding casts for Shine Not Burn.

#ReadingCram End of the Year Read-a-thon 2013: Seasonal Challenge + Day 6 Update

Books Finished:

Deadly (Pretty Little Liars, #14)The House of Hades (The Heroes of Olympus, #4)

Deadly by Sara Shepard

The House of Hades by Rick Riordan

2 books down, 7 more to go! Deadly is the conclusion to the Pretty Little Liars series and I was so excited to read it but it turned out to be a little disappointing. As for The House of Hades, it was really really good! I had so much fun reading it! The next book I’m going to read is Confessions of an Almost-Girlfriend.

Confessions of an Almost-Girlfriend (Confessions, #2)

This is the sequel to Confessions of an Angry Girl. I enjoyed the first book so I’m really looking forward to reading it.

#ReadingCram End of the Year Read-a-thon 2013: Spine Poetry and Day 4 update

Day 1: Started reading Deadly by Sara Shepard

Day 2: Finished reading Deadly, started reading The House of Hades by Rick riordan

Day 3: still reading The House of Hades

Day 4: still reading The House of Hades

I’m so pre-occupied with other stuff that I don’t have much time for reading right now. Even on evenings I am very busy with stuff and I’m losing sleep because I’m really trying to finish the book as soon as possible. I really want to finish all nine books in this read-a-thon and on top of that, it’s my goal to read 100 books this year. I’ve come this far now so failure to achieve that goal is not an option.

I’m not really good with Spine Poetry but they are fun to make. I hope you like it! 😀
