Bout of Books officially started and I am enjoying myself chatting up with fellow participants on Twitter. Join in on the discussion by using #BoutOfBooks on Twitter, Instagram, and other social media sites.

For today I’m going to participate in Ficiton World Travel where you list down 3-6 books that takes place in countries other than the one you reside in. This was a bit hard for me because I want to go to a LOT of places but I managed to narrow it down to three. And I chose my favorite contemporary books to represent these places.

It’s going to be the perfect excuse to reward myself with more reading time. And I’ve heard a lot of great things about Bout of Books and its 14th edition further shows how popular it is in the blogosphere. But despite that, I haven’t joined in, until now.

BOOK BLOGGER #LOVEaTHON: Mini Challenge – Letter to Yourself

Love-a-thon Badge

Hello and welcome to my stop in the Book Blogger Love-a-thon hosted by Katelyn and Alexa. It will run from Fe 15-16, 9am to 9pm EST.

For this mini challenge, what we’re going to do is to write a letter either to our old self or to our future blogging/writing self. I choose to write to my future writing self. This should be fun!

You can 1) Write a letter to your younger blogging/writing self: What would you change? What would you keep the same? What are your favorite parts? In what ways has blogging/writing changed you? What advice would you give yourself? Or 2) Write a letter to your future blogging/writing self: What goals do you want to set? What do you want to accomplish with your blog/writing? What do you want to start doing and what do you want to stop doing? Get all sorts of reflective with this one!

Dear Future Me,

Congratulations on maintaining Books Keep Me Sane this long. Wow. Having my very own book blog was once just a dream to me because I was really wary of venturing the world of book blogging but I’m glad I did. I’m proud to be part of this awesome community.

I hope by the time you read this Books Keep Me Sane would have her own domain name already. BooksKeepMeSane.com sounds very rad to me. Moving to my own domain seems a very daunting task and all those CSS codes make me crazy. I hope you’ll eventually figure it all out.

Also, be diligent in responding to people’s comments. They show their love for the blog through commenting, let’s give back the love through responding to them! 😀

And stop procrastinating on writing reviews. Right now I have 11 reviews to write but don’t be like me. Can you promise that?

It’s our life-long dream  to write a book, I hope you’d finally have the courage to put pens to paper and silence that inner critic in your head. I know you can do it!

Just stay positive, continue loving books and never give up on your dreams. And don’t forget the little things that make life worth living.

Much love,

The Present Me

BOOK BLOGGER #LOVEaTHON: Mini Challenge – Mash Up

Love-a-thon Badge

Hello and welcome to my stop in the Book Blogger Love-a-thon hosted by Katelyn and Alexa. It will run from Fe 15-16, 9am to 9pm EST.

Today I’m doing the Mash Up Mini challenge:

For this challenge we are going to ask you to mash-up your bookish life with a non-bookish hobby/passion/talent you have in real life. For example, if you are passionate about travel, maybe discuss books you want to travel to in real life, authors/characters you’d want to road trip with, etc.

Honestly, I had a hard time in this challenge because, like I said in my Love-a-thon interview post, I don’t know what other hobbies I have aside from reading. God, I sound like a very boring person. But there is one other thing I am very passionate about. I like to watch TV although lately I haven’t had the time to do much of that. One of my most favorite genres in TV show is murder/mystery. I love TV shows with baffling cases and intelligent detectives who can always solve those murders and kidnappings and all sorts of menacing things.

The Hardy Boys is one of the reasons why I love reading so much. I have read countless Hardy Boys books in my tween years. I would love to go solve murder cases with them! I may sound like a very horrible person but I love murder cases! Of course I only love them in the books I read but there is nothing fun when someone dies in reality, right? I love guessing who the culprit is. What tricks he used to execute the crime. What his motives are. And, truth be told, I have a major crush on Frank too.

And it seems like I’m not the only one in the family who likes Hardy Boys. My brother loves them too!

These are some of the Hardy Boys books I’ve read:
