john green books keep me sane

John Green – I know, shocking right? TFIOS was a great book and I really admire Green, only I am not ready yet to delve into anothe one of his heart-shredding, tear-inducing, emotionally-damaging books. But I might, someday, when I gain enough courage.

johanna lindsey books keep me sane

Johanna Lindsey – She’s one of the most renowned authors of historical romance and if there’s one particular genre I SO love it is historical romance. I need to read more of her books, ASAP.

susan elizabeth phillis books keep me sane
Susan Elizabeth Philips – Another romance writer that is very well-known, I have seen her books in various bookstores but for some reason I haven’t picked them up yet.

gail carriger books keep me sane
Gail Carriger– I keep hearing great things about Carriger’s Parasol Protectorate. I am really intrigued about it. And I have yet to read Curtsies and Conspiracies. So many books so little time.

samantha shannon books keep me sane
Samantha Shannon – I LOVE The Bone Season. The ending was a bit sad but I am DYING to read the sequel. Come to think of it, I am not even sure if the sequel is already out. *checks goodreads*

tahereh mafi books keep me sane
Tahereh Mafi – I loved Shatter Me (Warren and I should have babies together) but I haven’t read the sequel or the third book.

ransom riggs books keep me sane
Ransom Riggs– My friends are raving about Hollow City but I haven’t read the book yet. The bookstore near where I live keep running out of copies of the book. But it’s a good thing, right? Proof that it’s really great.

kendare blake
Kendare Blake – I love Antigoddess and I keep hearing about Anna Dressed in Blood. The title sounds morbid but I am willing to try the book.

mindy mcginnis books keep me sane
Mindy McGinnis – I really loved Not a Drop to Drink and I heard the sequel’s gonna be released this month!

david levithan books keep me sane
David Levithan – Two Boys Kissing was the first straight up LGBT book that I have read and I liked it. Everyone’s raving about Everyday (even my brother), it’s already on my TBR.

Feel free to leave your Top Ten Tuesday below. 🙂

  1. I had John Green on my list too! I agree he knows how to wrench your heart out! I read Looking for Alaska… I hear that TFIOS is even more upsetting so I haven’t yet got up enough courage to pick it up. But I hope to someday.

  2. Susan Elizabeth Phillips is one of my favorite authors. I’ve read every single book she’s written so I hope you’ll add more of her books in your TBR list 🙂 And yes to Tahereh Mafi. If you love Warner (which I gathered as probably true based on your comment ^_^), you have got to finish the series. 🙂

    Here’s My TTT 🙂

  3. If you think you and Warner could have babies together after the first book you will have an enormous amount of children after the second & third book . I haven’t really read many books by the authors on your list but I’m planning too! (Oh & when am I not)
    Great List! 🙂

  4. Yes, I agree with so much of this!! Anna Dressed in Blood is awesome and terrifying! In a Handful of Dust, the sequel to Not a Drop to Drink, is really, really amazing so if you liked the first one I think you’re going to love the sequel too! And you just reminded me that I really need to get to reading The Bone Season.

  5. I think you should check out An Abundance of Katherines by John Green. It’s emotional (all of his books are at least a little emotional), but it’s fun and nerdy and adorable. I don’t think any of his other books are as heart-breaking as TFiOS.
David Levithan is on my list, too! The only book I’ve read by him is the one he co-wrote with John Green. Ha.
    My TTT

I read every comment you make and I will try to respond to each of them
